Part 5: The Gospel and The LAMB
The Eternal Gospel and
the Lamb in the book of Revelation
The verses below highlight the fact that Jesus Christ is the lamb of God sacrificed for our sins. His blood was shed for us. John the Baptist proclaimed, "Behold, the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world." That Jesus was referred to as "the Lamb" so many times in the book of Revelation shows us the centrality of Jesus' death on the cross. He was raised from the dead as Lord and Savior. He is King, but He is also the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Revelation 1: 9
“I, John, both our brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island of Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.”
Revelation 12: 15
“…and
there were loud voices in heaven, saying, ‘The kingdoms of this world have become
the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and
ever.”

“And
they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony,
and they did not love their lives to the death.”

tongue.”

"He
shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels
and in the presence of the Lamb."
Revelation 14: 12
Revelation 15: 3
And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
Revelation 21: 9
"Then
one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last
plagues came to me and talked with me saying, “Come, I will show you the bride,
the Lamb’s wife.”
Revelation 22: 3
The Gospel Cannot Be
Changed.
Galatians 1: 6-9, 11
“I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.”

Revelation 5: 1-12
“And
no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll,
or even to look at it. So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open
and read the scroll, or to look at it. But one of the elders said to me, ‘Do
not weep. Behold the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Roof of David, has
prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals. And I looked, and
behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the
midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven
horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the
earth. Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on
the throne. Now when He had taken the scroll the four living creatures and the
twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden
bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new
song, saying, ‘You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; For
You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood.”Revelation 13:8

"And
I heard as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters
and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, ‘Alleluia! For the Lord God
Omnipotent reigns! Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the
marriage of the lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready. And to her
it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine
linen is the righteousness of the saints. Then he said to me, “Write: Blessed
are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb! And he said to me,
“These are the true sayings of God.And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
Revelation 21: 14
"Now
the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the
twelve apostles of the Lamb…”

city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of the

As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.”
“But
I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not
according to man. For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but
it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
Revelations
22: 18-21
"For
I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone
adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this
book; and if anyone takes away from the words of this prophecy, God shall take
away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things
which are written in this book. He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely
I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come Lord Jesus!"
