The Pews

Over the years I have occasionally drawn cartoons for church newsletters. Below are a few from the past. Many of the characters are actually caricatures of real people whom some of you may recognize. You have to know the people to fully appreciate the humor.

I remember at Grace Fellowship when the elders would sit up on the stage and look at the audience. I always felt that was so they could take notes on who was sleeping during the message. That was when I learned to sleep with my eyes open! Hahaha!

Then there was the woman who went to Rev. LeRoy Boonlevel's church. She took her crockpot of pot roast with her since there was going to be dinner on the grounds after the message. Arriving late, she took the crockpot into the fellowship hall, left it on the table and tiptoed into the church as Rev. Boonlevel was beginning the message. His message was on the Book of Revelation. "The Lord said because you are neither hot nor cold but lukewarm, I will spew thee out of my mouth" thundered the good reverend as she tiptoed into the santuary. She immediately turned around, rushed back into the fellowship hall, found an electrical outlet and plugged in the crockpot!

You inspired me with this one, Billy. Linda B.
