THE DIRE CONSEQUENCES OF REJECTING GOD

CUBA'S EXAMPLE
There was a revival among the Christians and churches in Cuba as Fidel Castro and the communist party were coming to power. A missionary who was in Cuba at the time told me that most of the Christians supported Castro. They believed his promises. Like the socialists and communists of today, he was promising them equality and all the utopian benefits that come about by redistributing the wealth. Once he was in power…reality struck hard. Everyone became equally poor and under the power of a government that controlled everything and told them what they could and could not believe.

RUSSIA'S EXAMPLE

The Bolshevik revolution in Russia promised to free the people from what they considered to be a repressive regime and replace it with the equality and prosperity of a socialist and communist utopia in which all their needs would be met by the government. But with communism’s rise to power came oppression, suffering, poverty, shortages, and the absence of freedom. The communist government would have collapsed within the first two years of the revolution had it not been supported by money from London and New York. Stalin later starved Ukraine by a militarily enforced confiscation of their food and crops in order to feed Russians and give them the illusion of prosperity. Millions of Ukrainians died… and with hardly any western media coverage of the atrocity.

THE FRENCH REVOLUTION
The French Revolution cried “Freedom, Equality, and Brotherhood” as they massacred and slaughtered thousands of their own people, confiscated property, and imprisoned or put to death the aristocracy and religious leaders. Then over the next decade, as various leaders of the revolutionary movement itself arose to power, they proceeded to send to the guillotine the former, rival leaders of their own movement. They removed and beheaded a king (Louis XVI), but because of the chaos, disorder, and bloodshed, they finally replaced him with the emperor Napoleon.

THE AMERICAN CULTURE

The socialists and communist-leaning generation of young people in our contemporary society will possibly one day wake up to the same stark realities… if the leftist platform ever gains control in this country. Prosperity and supplies will diminish, freedom will be lost, and the government will tell us what we can and cannot believe.
Criminal laws should control behavior…not thought. The political left in this country is already acting in the same spirit of hate, censorship, and hostility toward anyone who claims traditional and conservative values. They scream “tolerance” while exhibiting intolerance and hate towards anyone who disagrees with them. When a movement forbids honest discussion and censors anyone who disagrees with its beliefs, it sets a precedent that will one day backfire on its own constituents.
Casting out orthodox Christianity, the Bible, and the Lordship of Jesus will bring judgment on our nation. The removal of these foundations opens the way for a harvest of blatant, accepted, endorsed, and approved immorality in every form. Corruption and the lack of integrity will grow in every level of society. The absence of love even now is seen in the violence and hostility reported around the nation and in the heartless murder of babies in and out of the womb. We are losing the peaceful unity of a blended society and witnessing the growth and intensification of tension and hostility of distinct groups that compete for power and government benefits.

REJECTING GOD HAS CONSEQUENCES

Rejecting God and the Bible removes moral restraints and turns loose man’s worse propensities. It also provides a place for Satan and gives him tools for his work. The society that knew but rejected God and His word will experience a greater invasion of evil spirits than the one who never knew.
The demon takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation. (Mat 12:45).
Even if God remains silent, our sins will bring their own judgment. Jeremiah said, “Your own wickedness will correct you, and your backslidings will rebuke you. Know therefore and see that it is an evil and bitter thing that you have forsaken the Lord your God.’ Jeremiah 2: 19.

WHEN GOD LEAVES, HIS BLESSINGS LEAVE

We cannot remove God without dire consequences to our culture and to our nation. The folly of rebellious human nature is to remove God while expecting Him to leave behind with us the blessings produced by His presence. We must realize that if God leaves, the blessing and blessings also leave, and our house will be left unto us desolate. When you “flee from God” you forsake your own mercy and all the good things He brings you. Jonah’s plan was to flee from the presence of God. His discipline was in receiving a heavy dose of what he asked for. Consequently, he landed in the belly of the whale. He then realized the foolishness of his flight. He cried out to God, “I have been expelled from Your sight.” I can imagine the Lord saying, “Well, that’s what you said you wanted.”
We remove God from our schools and our lives; and then we hypocritically complain when He is not there to prevent tragedy. If our society runs from the presence of God, it could wake up “in the belly of the whale” and realize that the joys of life, even for a nation, is found in the Lord Himself and in His blessings.

According to the Psalmist, when the kingdom of God rules, “our sons will be as plants grown up in their youth. Our daughters will be as pillars sculptured in palace style. Our barns will be full, supplying all kinds of produce. Our sheep will bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields. There will be no breaking in or going out. There will be no outcry in our streets. Blessed are the people who are in such a state; Blessed are the people whose God is the Lord.” Psalm 144: 12-15.
“The wicked will be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God….Arise, O Lord, do not let man prevail, Let the nations be judged in Your sight. Put them in fear, O Lord, that the nations may know themselves to be but men.” Psalm 9: 17, 19.
